International Crisis in 2009 change Internationalization plan

Due to the international economic environment occurred since the end of 2008 and extended in 2009, PI - Portugal Informático decided to change its plan of internationalization and invest heavily on developing new solutions.

This decision resulted in the creation of solutions like the PI e-Billing Digital, for dematerialization of paper-based documents, PI e-Billing EDI, to exchange electronic documents, and e-Billing Suite, which adds an integrated application of all the solutions including a new version of PI e-Billing Connector.

According to Afonso Rangel, CEO of PI-Portugal Informático: "Having decided to keep the process of internationalization as planned would have been suicidal. The markets were in serious crisis that would cause a weak penetration regarding the level of investment required. We prefer to channel resources to developing new solutions, which will be fundamental in order to come even more competitive in the international market and to broaden the range of solutions that we provide to our clients".

Despite this strategic change, many of the Internationalization Process tasks remained ongoing, including new image, new sites, the markets studies, the preparation and production of resources, among others, therefore the Kick-off of this project is able to start at anytime.

Speaking of the process of internationalization, PI-Portugal Informático continues to grow in the Angolan market and is in a testing phase of integration between their solutions and a software manufacturer in Brazil, which expects to open the doors of American Solutions for e-Billing Suite.
